Acu Yoga Massage
with Tom Malinsky, M.S., L.Ac., LMT
Acu Yoga Massage is a fusion of Japanese Shiatsu and Thai Yoga Massage. Both of these styles of Massage are performed on a Futon Mat, with the client fully clothed.
The Techniques used in Acu Yoga Massage range from passive stretching to acupressure point stimulation. The main premise is to release any blockages in order to bring the body back into optimal functioning.
The Practitioner palpates along Energy pathways, known as Meridians or Channels. The Pathways have an intimate connection with the interior and exterior of the body. When there is excess we drain and when there is deficiency we tonify. The treatment is similar to Acupuncture. However in Acu Yoga Massage we use Massage techniques rather than needles. In order to get the Energy (Qi) flowing smoothly after it has been released by the acupressure techniques, we use Thai Yoga Massage Stretches. These Stretches are similar to Yoga (Poses).
I use my background in Oriental Medicine/Acupuncture, Yoga, and Massage to open the Pathways of Energy that have become blocked and out of balance.
Acu Yoga Massage is good for all ages and all activity level. Each and Every client is treated individually for his or her specific presentations.
