The following descriptions are offered as a guide to help students decided what class is appropriate to their individual situation. If you are uncertain about the type of class that will best suit your needs, please call us at the studio (847-919-0533) or send us a note at info@genyoga.com
Introductory - This special 4 week series is specifically desined for those individuals with little or no yoga experience but can also be a great refresher class for those students who haven't stepped on the mat for quite some time. In this series, students will not only learn breathing techniques to help create body awareness while relaxing the mind, but they also will learn the basic sitting and standing poses. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of a basic yoga class and will receive the essential knowledge needed as they continue on along their yoga journey.
All Levels - Those who practice at any level will benefit from these classes. All of our Gentle and Restorative classes are intended for any level of student. Additionally, certain series classes focus on areas that all students can benefit and are so noted.
Beginner - For those who are new to yoga or those individuals who are recovering from injury. These classes focus on the fundamentals of yoga, proper alignment, and teach modifications for those with injuries
Intermediate - For those who have been practicing yoga regularly and have knowledge of the basic asanas. Intermediate classes include the fundamentals of yoga and often introduce arm balances and inversions while flowing through Sun Salutations. Not suitable for beginners or those individuals with injuries.
Advanced - For those who have a routine yoga practice and have a solid foundation in the basic asanas. This is a much more advanced practice including challenging arm balances, inversions, and vigorous flow through Sun Salutations. Not suitable for beginners or those individuals with injuries.
