We are delighted to have you as our guest at Generations Yoga Center. The following guidelines have been developed to answer commonly asked questions and to ensure each student has an enjoyable experience in our studio…
Please arrive to class on time. Out of respect for fellow students, those arriving more than 10 minutes after the start time may not be allowed to participate. Please check in before class and take care of payment arrangements prior to the start time.
Come to class fresh and refrain from wearing perfume or cologne.
Please remove your shoes at the door in observance of ancient Eastern custom.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing. It is recommended that students practice with bare feet.
Cell phones and pagers be left outside of class, but for those instances where they must accompany the student, please place all electronic devices on silent mode so as not to disrupt the class.
Practicing on an empty stomach is strongly encouraged. Refrain from eating 2 to 3 hours, or longer if possible, prior to class.
Inform the teacher prior to class of any injuries you might have or if you are currently pregnant. If you are pregnant, have any serious injuries, or are recovering from a recent surgery, please obtain your doctor's permission before coming to yoga.
Bring your own towel or practice rug to help absorb sweat. Studio blankets are not to be used for this purpose.
Bring water to drink either during of after class to keep you hydrated. However, some teachers prefer their students refrain from drinking water during class.
Please consider the sacredness of the space by picking up after yourself and returning borrowed props back to their original location. If you are using one of the mats or blankets provided by the studio, please fold them neatly and place them back where they belong in an organized fashion.
Please keep voices low when not in class so as not to disrupt classes that are still in session.
