Well-Being, deep relaxation, and peace of mind are always knocking on your door from the inside, longing for expression. These are natural expressions of your true nature and blossom naturally through meditation that nourishes and supports your innate ground of well-Being. Living your innate sense of pure Being catapults you into being fully alive and awake, capable of welcoming and embracing your authentic response to each moment just as it is. Only when you welcome and live your authenticity will you and the world be at peace.

An Urban Non-Residential Retreat...This urban non-residential retreat offers you the opportunity to awaken as your innate ground of well-Being. During retreat we engage ancient meditative teachings through periods of lying, sitting and walking meditation, practices of BodySensing, breathing, iRest deep relaxation, and spirited dialogue. And since silence nurtures undistracted self-inquiry, we will engage social silence at times during the day. No prior yoga or meditation experience is required.

Come relinquish your limiting beliefs about who you think you are and recover what you really are: timeless Presence and unshakable ease of Being.

The secret of Laughter Yoga is that our bodies are hardwired with some surprisingly powerful natural reactions to extended hearty laughter (a whole-brain function.)

  • Backed up by research. Laughter is truly really good for you.
  • Exercise, not comedy. Laugh and feel good as and where you are.
  • Breathing deeper, with attitude. No mats, straps or blocks required.

Yoga and Scoliosis - Level 1

Saturday, June 12th
2:30 to 5:50 PM
Yoga for Scoliosis Workshop with Sarah Hillenbrand

Cost:
$40 by 5/14
$45 after

Each of us moves through life uniquely scarred, injured and carrying our particular burdens; some more hidden, others more visible. Scoliosis is an opportunity to directly connect with these gifts and challenges. Yoga offers two essential tools: attention to alignment & the power of the breath to shape your ribcage.

In this workshop discover how scoliosis affects your entire body, not just your back. From head to feet we will map how your body twists and turns. With this knowledge you can lengthen your spine, untwist the rotated sections, and draw the curvatures closer to your midline. Learn how scoliosis loads your muscles asymmetrically and how to adapt yoga poses to awaken, lengthen and strengthen the weak and underused muscles. Practice directing your breath in a similar way, awakening the power in your breathing muscles to help correct your scoliosis.

SUITABLE FOR ALL LEVELS, including those students new to yoga as well as more advanced practiioners. Each student will leave with a map of his/her curves, images to help visualize curve patterns, and a home practice sequence.
