I
took my first yoga class to find variety in my exercise
routine. I didn’t know much about yoga except
that it was supposed to help calm and center you,
while
aiding in flexibility. It sounded great to me since
I had issues with anxiety as well.
After
my first class, I felt great but thought, “This
is just stretching.” As I kept returning to the
classes and reading about yoga philosophy, I noticed
so much more than just stretching. I felt a sense of
calm, a strength within myself that I rarely connected
to before practicing yoga. I decided to become an instructor
because I wanted to open up the world of yoga to those,
who like me, found it mysterious and even a bit scary
at first. I love to see a student discover that beauty
within an asana or when they begin to notice that mind,
body, breath connection!
I
trained with Tracey Rich and Ghanga White at the White
Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA. I wanted to
do an intensive training so I could immerse myself in
the experience 24/7. I loved it so much! I learned
a Hatha Vinyasa Flow which helped me to grow spiritually.
I knew I was on the right path!
