I am constantly looking for ways to deepen, enhance and embrace the experiences life gives me. For me yoga has provided the path on which to do so. I was first introduced to yoga in 2002 through my study and practice of Thai Massage. My yoga practice truly developed when I used it to cross train for the Chicago marathon in 2006, which left me hooked and searching for a more in depth understanding. My training with Daren Friesen at Moksha Yoga Center in gave me exactly that, alignment and philosophy with focus on Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles. Workshops with other master teachers such as Tias Little and Aadil Palkhivala have deepened my insight on this amazing practice. After completing a training with Jim Bennitt on Tantric Vinyasa I gained an in depth awareness of the energetic effects attainable through yoga.
I feel blessed to have found something that feels completely natural and good. From my practice I gain wisdom about myself helping me better understand the world around me. I equally love the challenges and accomplishments that yoga provides. In a world of perpetual opposition, it is my goal to create awareness and balance through this great practice.
We all have teachers in life but the master teacher is life itself ... it is you, your intuitive self. As a yoga teacher don't intend to be your spiritual guide or to jam your body into a certain shape. My goal is to plant little seeds that might feed your own intuition and bring you awareness into new possibilities.
I work to make yoga accessible to everyone no matter how you came to find your practice. Whether it is the energetic qualities of yoga intrigue you or the physical challenges that drive you, in my classes you can expect creative and smart sequencing that work to leave you feeling balanced. As a teacher I strive to bring the simple and beautiful benefits that yoga gives me to others, feeling of bliss. It's the surges I get throughout the day that run through my entire self that I attribute to yoga. Ananda ... "Ultimate Bliss"
