Jennifer Netzky
Licensed Massage Therapist – LMT, NCTMB
Professional Doula Childbirth Assistant – ALACE trained
Licensed Clinical Social Worker – MSW, LCSW
I have been working with families and individuals since 1994, living locally and internationally to improve opportunities and services offered to children and women. My Masters Degree from the University of Michigan’s School of Social Work gave me a grounded and sensible perspective when working in this role. However, I found limitations in offering families holistic and lasting tools to promote family unity and individual growth. This inspired me to expand my integrative skills set and I obtained my degree in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork from the New School for Massage, Bodywork & Healing, in Chicago.
My practice integrates a combination of Massage Therapy, Bodywork and emotional release techniques through private therapeutic sessions, one-on-one education, and group classes to manifest health and strength for children and parents beginning at conception and continuing throughout childhood. I work with children of all abilities and tailor programs to meet emotional, behavioral, developmental and medical needs.
In developing my unique practice, I have studied directly with the leaders in the specialized fields of:
- Massage for Infants, Children & Adolescents
- Massage for Children w/ Special Healthcare Needs
- Infant Massage Instruction (CEIM)
- Pre- and Perinatal Massage Therapy
- Labor Assistance & Childbirth Education (ALACE)
- Visionary Craniosacral Therapy
- The LifeLine Technique™
I am committed and passionate to provide families with practical tools that encourage healthy child development. I have developed massage programs specific to the needs of growing children and a teaching program that empowers families with the natural healing art of touch. I respect and encourage your personal birthing and parenting beliefs, preferences and traditions. Thus, we work together to create an individualized program to address your specific needs. I work with you, side by side, to achieve your desired goals.
Although I specialize in supporting families and children, I work with all individuals providing Massage, Bodywork and Craniosacral Therapies. Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage
Throughout pregnancy a woman’s body experiences many changes that challenge and stress her physical and emotional self. Massage naturally realigns the body so mom can integrate these changes fully while supporting optimal fetal development. Massage soothes the physical and emotional needs of mom, and increases her strength, comfort and endurance so she can adapt best during the stages of gestation, childbirth and the postpartum period.
Infant & Child Massage
Infants and children experience tremendous growth physically, emotionally and intellectually daily. Massage establishes balance and strength within their body so they can develop healthfully on all of these levels with ease and comfort.
Massage for infants and children is offered through private therapeutic sessions, one-on-one education, and group classes. Sessions are tailored to work with children of all abilities to meet emotional, behavioral, developmental and medical needs. Sessions will offer parents child-specific massage techniques to use with their children at home.
