I’ve been practicing yoga for eleven years and have had the honor of studying with a variety of master teachers in disciplines ranging from Ashtanga to Iyengar yoga. I have learned through studying different styles of yoga that while approaches may vary, the intention is the sameto provide the practitioner with a tool to become more conscious. Yoga is a process of waking up - of becoming REAL - of actualizing your own original innate nature. In helping and liberating yourself, you help and liberate the world.
The focus of my practice is the never-ending journey of self-discovery and awareness. For me, the breath is at the heart of that process. Breath is the union of the body, mind and spirit and through breath, we become present. Being present allows us to be conscious of our physical bodies, emotional and mental states, and spiritual wellbeing. Through breath, flows pranathe very life force that sustains and connects us all. Prana flows through energy channels throughout the body. Properly aligning our bodies in yoga asanas, or postures, allows energy to flow freely.
In my class, we focus on our breath, which is our center. We explore through detailed attention to alignment, and moving to the rhythm of our breath, our own unique truth. There is no right or wrongthere is only the process and the practiceand the willingness and desire to explore and grow.
I have been teaching yoga for 6 years and am so thankful to my teachers, especially each and every one of my students. Every day, I am inspired by their courage to embark on the journey of self-discovery and humbled by their trust in me to guide them. It is the highest honor, and the thing that most fuels my passion for yoga.
